What is the Best Time of the Day to Lose Weight?
According to Dr. Oz, there’s a “best time of the day” for anything and everything related to weight loss.
The best time to weight yourself is first thing in the morning when you wake-up (after you use the bathroom). You weigh the least in the morning and you want to be consistent about when you weigh yourself.
The best time to exercise during the day is also in the morning. So, you wake up, go to the bathroom, and weigh yourself, and workout right away.
Why? Dr. Oz said that when you exercise in the morning, you burn fat calories from your waist. However, if you eat breakfast first, then you have to burn through what you ate before burning through your fat stores.
The best time to eat meals depends on your Circadian Rhythm; your body tells you when you should eat. The rule of thumb is to have breakfast within an hour of waking up.
If we stick with the schedule of waking up by 6:30 a.m., having breakfast at 7:30 a.m., then lunch should be around noon and dinner should be around 6:30 p.m.
Dr. Oz said that if you delay these times, you would be hungry and more likely to cheat and overeat. If you only remember one thing, remember to eat breakfast within an hour of waking up and to have dinner 3 hours before going to bed.
Lastly, the best time to take a fiber supplement is 15 minutes before you eat dinner, because it helps to fill your stomach so that you eat less before you feel full.
Dr. Oz said that by taking a fiber supplement, you will feel too full to eat the mashed potatoes, or other starchy carbohydrate, at dinner, which will ultimately lead to gradual and consistent weight loss.
